‘Let’s Get Growing’ at the Sechelt Public Library in conjunction with the Sechelt Seed Saving Library was held on Saturday April 5th, 2025. Thank you to the event organizers, Sechelt Garden Club members and the wonderful volunteers who came to share their knowledge, and the many participants. There were short talks on planting, growing and transplanting with Vanessa Choo, Phill Murray and Jon Bell.
In 2025 the Sechelt Garden Club partnered with The Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden to offer a 12 week course ‘Mentoring in the Garden’. The course started April 13th, every two weeks, at no cost. Participants were expected to participate, grow a row for the Food Bank and join the Sechelt Garden Club. Thank you to volunteers Vanessa Choo and Pat Kolterman for their leadership. Read more…
As a result of FireSmart report recommendations, the Sechelt Garden Club partnered with volunteers from the Sechelt Seniors Activity Centre on April 23rd and 26th, 2025 to assist with pruning, weeding and debris removal. 160 pounds were taken to GreenWaste and the area along the building was significantly improved.
